While dreaming up new combinations of green smoothies, I thought cucumber and raspberry would be light and refreshing. Indeed, it’s another new favorite. The tanginess of the raspberries is balanced by the bananas, while the distinct, melon-like flavor of the cucumber shines through, as I hoped it would. A smashing start to the day!

Raspberry-Cucumber Green Smoothie

  • Yield: 6 cups


  • 1¼ cup apple juice
  • 3 handfuls baby spinach
  • 1 cucumber
  • juice of one lemon
  • 2 bananas
  • 2 cups frozen raspberries


The order of blending doesn’t really matter so much as that everything is blended well!

  1. Blend the apple juice and spinach.
  2. Add the cucumber and lemon juice and blend.
  3. Add the bananas and raspberries and blend well. Enjoy!
